Project: Kwik Trip app and ad design
Process: For this project, I designed a vintage-inspired app for Kwik Trip named the Midwest Road Rally to engage travelers and enhance their road trip experience. The Midwest Road Rally app encourages users to visit various Kwik Trip locations, complete challenges and trivia, and earn rewards along the way. Using illustration and paper textures, I created a nostalgic feel that reflects Kwik Trip’s long-standing presence in the Midwest.
From my app design, I expanded the work to include an ad series that advertisted the app. For this ad I wanted it to have a fun feel and to portray the feeling of travel. Each of the ads is written like a love letter to the Midwest Road Rally app. They each highlight different things that people enjoyed about using the app while they are traveling across the Midwest. To help portray the feeling of travel I designed the ads to have a scrapbook feel to them with paper texture, polaroid photos, tape, and other bits and pieces.
